Frequently asked questions
To get all the benefits of working with me, I strongly recommend that we work together for all stages, but I understand that sometimes it is not always possible. This is why I invoice each stage individually so if for any reason you want to pause or stop completely after a stage is completed you can (T&C's apply). If you are only interested in changing your furniture, you might also want to take a look at my Interior Personal Shopper Service.
No. I work as an agent, not a principal, meaning I research, source, and negotiate prices for all the FF&E (Furniture, fixtures and Equipment) on your behalf, but the legal contract for the purchase and delivery of items is directly between you and the suppliers. I do not mark up on furniture purchase. I only charge a management fee to make all the purchases and coordinate deliveries. Funds for the purchase of FF&E is held in a separate account to facilitate purchases and track transactions easily.
This ensures cost is transparent and you hold all direct rights, warranties, and guarantees for the products. You also benefit from the discounted prices offered by the trade suppliers I work with.
Yes. I'm happy to offer my services for the whole South West and London. If you live anywhere else, the travel cost and logistics might not be cost-efficient for you and I would recommend that you consult a fellow designer in your area. However, if you do prefer to work with me, then yes absolutely I would be happy to help you with your project! I do not offer e-design services fir the moment as I prefer to concentrate on projects where I can have a real, face-to-face connection with my clients.
I source all the furniture, lighting, fabrics, wallpaper and accessories from various sources, as the design will guide me to the perfect piece. However, I never settle only for the mainstream suppliers. I am always on the lookout for independent makers and little-known vendors to ensure you end up with a one-of-a-kind interior. I also source from vintage markets (nationally and internationally) to find the perfect gem for you.
I work with any suppliers as long as they have the right item for you and align with my ethical approach. For example, I can work with a small handmade lighting business in Cornwall as well as a renowned Italian furniture company because they offer highly crafted made-to-order pieces, or a large tile company because their products are made of 95% recycled materials.
It is really difficult to say in advance as each project is unique, and each client has their specific needs and timeframe. However, I do have a timeframe guideline that you can find in my Investment Guide, downloadable on the website.
Of course! It is your home! I cannot design without you: you will be my inspiration for the concept (this is why the first step is the questionnaire at the Audit stage so I get to know about you) but also, to be able to move further in the process, I will need your validation regularly (on the concept, the FF&E, the budget…).
